Problems continue to arise so quickly that we find solutions and shortcuts to temporarily alleviate voltage points - so that we can move on to the next problem. In this process, we fail to eliminate the root cause of every problem that arises and we are trapped in an endless cycle that makes it difficult to find real solutions. Does it sound familiar?
We all have problems that we face in our daily activity and life, it seems that there is never enough time to solve each one without facing difficulties along the way.
Problem solving is the essence of what leaders need to do. As leaders, the goal is to minimize the occurrence of problems - which means we need to be brave enough to address them directly and anticipate their occurrences before circumstances worsen and lead to line breaks, or to less happy customers.
Not infrequently we have seen organizations that misaddress the problems of departments or individuals due to the lack of a clear delimitation of responsibilities. The RACI method is an easy-to-use tool for identifying roles and responsibilities in a team or organization. An important element in creating a successful team is the qualification matrix of the people in the team that must be clearly defined.
Problem solving must be done in a multidisciplinary team coordinated by a leader and decisions must be made by mutual agreement. The solutions found and chosen for implementation must be properly addressed to the process managers and then tracked and verified so that the implemented solution is effective.
We must be resilient in our attempt to create and sustain the positive momentum for the organization and colleagues! ;)
