Objectives: understanding the main legal obligations associated with the management of controlled and special waste, together with practical tools for classifying the type of waste.

Following the training, participants will be able to:
• Understand the main legislation governing waste management
• Apply the methodology of identification, segregation, classification and disposal of waste
• Understand the roles and responsibilities of all parties involved in the waste management chain
• Identify waste minimization opportunities

Target audience: It is addressed to employees from different organizations, responsible for the identification, storage, transfer and disposal of waste, including: EHS Manager, Environmental Managers, Facility Manager, Landfill Staff.

Agenda:

Day 1
• Introduction
• Presentation of the legislation in the field: Government Emergency Ordinance no. 195/2005 on environmental protection, with subsequent amendments and completions;
• Presentation of the legislation in the field: Law no. 211/2011 regarding the waste regime - the obligations of the economic agents with the subsequent modifications;
• Presentation of the legislation in the field: GD 856/2002 regarding the waste management records and for the approval of the list containing the waste, including hazardous waste, with the subsequent completions;
• Presentation of the legislation in the field: GD 1061/2008 regarding the transport of hazardous and non-hazardous waste on the Romanian territory;
• Presentation of the legislation in the field: Law 249/2015 on the management of packaging and packaging waste, with subsequent amendments and completions;
• Identification, characterization and coding of waste, preparation and maintenance of waste records.

Day 2
• Waste management - waste prevention and minimization;
• Waste collection and transport;
• Waste management and, in particular, of certain categories regulated by special normative acts: used oils, used batteries and accumulators, waste electrical and electronic equipment;
• Hazardous and radioactive waste;
• Practical solutions for the compliance of the economic agents with the requirements of the environmental legislation in the field of waste management;
• Avoiding contraventional sanctions;
• Case studies - analysis of the most common situations at work.
• Discussions. Examination. End of course.

Diploma: After participating in the course and passing the exam, a graduation certificate will be issued.

Trainer: Over 10 years of experience in industry and consultancy with expertise in the use of course and training tools.
